Ideas for improved UX in and before the Cart

As a shop owner i look a lot for smoother ways to do things on Webshops, so i wanted to share two ideas to improve very common (but often cumbersome) practices:

One is about selecting attributes on say a shirt, with size and color.
normally this is done with two selection- bullet- lists or so.
this is cumbersome to see which items are really available to put in the cart.
A way better solution can be seen here, where the attributes are joined into one select:

Another thing is on handling amounts in the cart.
Normally, there's a textfield for the amount, and a refresh-button on each item, or globally for the whole cart.
For most cases, way better to handle is a dropdown, with some js for updating, as seen here:

Not sure if some of this should/could be modules or what, just want to help improve...

PS:
wanted to add images, but got errors:
The specified file options-combined.jpg could not be uploaded. Only files with the following extensions are allowed: txt, jpg, png, gif, pdf, xls, xlsx, doc, docx, zip, tar, gz, patch, diff.
