Spread the Word

As a long time Ubercart & Ryan's follower I'd very much like to see great activity here at Drupalcommerce.

What about using the power of community and let your loyal followers "Spread the Word" of Drupalcommerce? ...maybe activating some "tell a friend" -modules etc.?

Looking forward for the Great Future of Drupalcommerce.

Thanks so much for your

Thanks so much for your support. : )

It might be worth rethinking this site entirely - or at least the information architecture. I always fancied this site more of a development hub for the core Commerce modules themselves, not necessarily a place where the casual user would get support / share feature requests. However, I wouldn't be opposed to that happening, and that's something that would be more easily sharable.

What do you think the site's primary purpose should be? Or should it have a split purpose?

What do you think the site's

What do you think the site's primary purpose should be?...

Well... I think at least people want to know a road map what's going to happen and when.

This topic is really old but I'm a new user so.....

I think this site should be all inclusive, but organized. People are posting support questions everywhere. Not ideal.

What I would like to see is a place where I could go for support, but also a place where I can go to see what's upcoming, a place for reading up on the API and how to contribute a new module to interact with Commerce, and a place to take part in the discussion on what modules are needed, what Commerce needs, etc.

It can be all those things but you will need moderators and section off the site so people know where to go to get what they came for.

I think it would be more valuable to have a catchall site but some people prefer to have several different groups and spreading things out that way. It all depends on your personality and tastes i guess. Maybe some people want this site to be core, keep out the support issues so they can come here, and think about the future of Commerce instead of thinking of the solution to someone's problem. If that is this site, there definitely should be a site like the one I described above somewhere or you could always use the issue queue on Drupal.org.

One last thing, it also depends on where the interests of the Commerce Core contributors lie. If you advocated the use of the issue queue on Drupal, you could assure you'd be seeing issues for Commerce. Having them aggregated here you're seeing the issues for Commerce Core, Commerce Shipping, Commerce Taxes, etc.

We hope to have a support section

We do hope to have a more explicit support arrangement, but as always, there are too many things to do. And yes, right now there are too many places for questions. There's no question that bugs or potential bugs should be reported in the issue queue. Ryan and some other maintainers prefer not to see support questions there. I'm personally a fan of the issue queue, but respond to every post here that I know the answer to.

To me it makes sense to separate the issue queue from support related questions. For major modules like this one, that is. These megamodules tend to get a lot of activity and I can understand the difficulty in sorting through looking for bugs. Sure, you can use tagging, but that;s an extra step for the maintainers who already have 1,000 things to do. If you're module has 10 sites using it, it doesn't make sense to separate.

But having it all in one place like you like can work too. Organizing and tagging becomes necessary but it's all int he personal taste of the individual, I suppose.
