Agree with Damz
It's not because we both are French, but I have to admin that I'm totally agree with Damz. I just posted my vision of things in the forum that goes to a similar direction.
Sure, it would be good to have a D7 version Ubercart when D7 will be released. But I think that it will not help Ubercart to go to the next step. The D6 and D7 versions of drupal and some contributed modules (Views, rules, CCK (fields)) improved enought to totally reconsider the ubercart conception to take part of their power. I think this is the only way to make Drupal and Ubercart one of the major ecommerce application in the highly competitive domain that is ecommerce.
I have to come on IRC, but I would like to participate to the Ubercore project, as developper, tester, suggestion maker, don't know, but I would like to participate.
