Decimal quantities

This is a rather selfish request, but can I ask that including support for decimal quantities in Ubercore is at least considered? I mean, it wouldn't hurt would it?

Decimal quantities? Hmm.

Decimal quantities? Hmm. Could you give an example of how that would be useful? Selling stuff by weight, maybe?

Yes, weight-based items are

Yes, weight-based items are what I'm specifically referring to in my case (for cheese/ham/salami) but it could also apply to dimensions.

For example, ordering curtains at a certain size. Allowing decimal quantities would allow a vendor to sell curtains at any size the customer requested rather than taking custom sizes offline/out-of-system.

There are probably other examples of types products that would benefit from allowing decimal quantities that I can't think of right now.

For your example of curtains,

For your example of curtains, that wouldn't be qty. You'd still need X number of curtains at whatever size you specify. For weight based products and length based products it makes sense, but you can always change the business rule to sell only in whole pounds of meat or yards of fabric. I don't see any reason to rule this idea out, because I'm not sure changing the data type of the qty presents any significant problem. We'll keep it in mind.
