Realignment IRC Meeting on Nov. 20, 2009

The planning sprint on October 26, 2009 covered a lot of ground. You can check out the chat log to get the gist of it. Some action items were boiled down into tickets on drupal.org, and we've had some movement around getting the source control workflow ironed out for distributed development. However, much remains to be done, and much momentum needs to be recaptured.

Thus, a realignment meeting is in order. Tomorrow, November 20, 2009 at 1 PM EST, we'll kick off a little meeting in #d7uc on irc.freenode.net. The goals will be to check out the tickets and progress thus far, remind ourselves what we hoped to accomplish by the end of the month, and discuss a more regular check-in / collaboration IRC meeting.

It's somewhat impromptu, so come if you can but don't feel bad if you can't. Some of us will be hanging out in the channel all day and would be happy to fill you in on anything discussed and field any questions you might have. Furthermore, if we come up with a weekly meeting time, we'll be sure to announce it regularly.

For those who couldn't make

For those who couldn't make it, feel free to check out the chat log at http://bot.drupalfr.org/bot/log/d7uc/2009-11-20. We'll try to summarize things on here shortly. My personal goal after this sprint is to get some simple contributor flowcharts going for people to know how to get involved and where the process stands. Also, we've scheduled an IRC check-in on Monday at 7 PM GMT. This will be a regular meeting on weeks when we don't have sprint planning / review meetings. I'll be adding that to the calendar shortly.

I just boiled the log down

I just boiled the log down into minutes for review:

The log for last week can be reviewed through http://d7uc.org/node/81#comment-112.

Last week we started by making sure everyone was up to speed with the Ubercore Initiative and briefly chatted about the name with discussion spilling over into http://d7uc.org/node/82.

We then reviewed existing issues at http://drupal.org/project/issues/ubercore.

I said I'd be making up some flowcharts (regarding points of contribution, like for UI mock-ups and such) which due to work and travel I wasn't able to do between Friday and today; much to my chagrin. :-/

The gist of it is, actionable items go into the queue, brainstorming and review goes on d7uc.org and IRC for now.

A side discussion arose around CA vs. Rules, as Jody chatted about spearheading that. I believe she can give us a status update, and there's further discussion at http://d7uc.org/node/83.

Lyle gave a quick update on Ubercart 7.x-2.x. It looks like that question has been settled by his employer (someone should go update that thread here), and we're waiting on Coder to get up to speed to make that transition easier.

We then closed talking about physical sprints (one Parisian and one American) and weekly IRC meetings, of which this is the first. However, it wasn't announced very well, so here we are.

Any questions / talking points? Anyone with time on their hands this week that needs to know where to dive in?
