Ubercore renamed to Drupal Commerce

As I outlined in my blog post on the subject, Ubercore has been renamed to Drupal Commerce. This is unfortunate, because I liked the short URL, but d7ci just doesn't have the same ring as d7uc. So, go ahead and update your bookmarks and prepare to double down as we make up for lost time!

Well sorry but i feel glad that "ubercart" or ubercore is not used anymore : ugly mix between deutsh and english to my french hears :-)
Well, I don't know if the uber was coming from Deusth...

what was it again before?... over-nucleus? outside-kernel? or was it everywhere-middle? anyway, it was an oxymoron.

I like...

I like the name. Will be much easier to present Drupal with Drupal Commerce, than Drupal with Ubercart to clients :)

I don't get it

There's already Ubercart, you don't honestly think they will put an ecommerce in drupal core do you ? I'm confused what is this drupal commerce and why when we already have Ubercart ?

Nah, this definitely isn't supposed to be a part of Drupal core. The name was changed to indicate that due to the concerns outlined in my blog post this project is no longer tied to Ubercart. It represents a significant re-implementation of the core systems Ubercart depends on for basic e-commerce functionality. Originally, this effort was intended to revitalize Ubercart on Drupal 7, but now it will be developed in parallel to other Ubercart upgrade efforts.
