Wait for Drupal 8 or go with D7?

Hi there,

I am planning to build my first Drupal webshop.
Would it be wise to wait for Drupal 8 or is it going to take a long time for drupal commerce and its modules to be converted to drupal 8. The thing is I see some promissing web services support coming up and some of our suppliers support these services to connect to our webshop but I don't know how hard it is to convert stuff from D7 to D8. Any advice wether to go with D7 and use some web services modules or to wait for D8. Some insights in a target release date for drupal commerce for D8 would be nice to know if there is one :)

Thanks in advance!

It will likely be another year before Drupal 8 is out. We haven't announced anything yet (pre-Munich Drupalcon) but expect to hear something from Ryan / Commerce Guys on our timeline for Drupal 8.
